I’m now a Foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr)

Career progression is now!

Earlier this year when I found out about the NHS England abolishment, I did some personal reflection on my career path because hopefully as people know me, I don’t want to stay as an I’ve been assistant for the rest of my life because I’m ambitious.

I’ve been working in the NHS for five years and I don’t intend on leaving any time soon. Therefore I’ve made a decision that I’m not going to move to the Department of Health and Social Care.

My career is still in communications and equality, diversity, inclusion (EDI) however I do want to do one day is to go into management.

Over the years I’ve had a variety of managers from ones that were supportive but two others that have created an unsafe psychological environment. I’ve decided despite the experience I’ve heard I can see at least one quality that I want to have when I am a a lie manager because I know I can be the best person I can to support future team members and I can’t wait for that day to come.

However in order for me to get there, I have to do some qualifications and over the past few weeks I’ve been doing a Chartered Management Institute(CMI) Level 5 Award in EDI, Certificate in Project Management and a Diploma in Management and Leadership alongside bitesize courses and I’m pleased to say I’m recently been awarded the Foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr) status!

While it’s still a small achievement, it’s on the right path I want to go to and I can’t wait until I achieve all my qualifications where I know it will lead me to my first management role.

Onwards and upwards they say!
